I grew up in western New York and did my undergraduate degree at Princeton University. I then switched coasts and did my Ph.D. with Doug Koshland at UC Berkeley. My thesis focused on RNA-DNA duplexes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and how they affect DNA repair. I then came back east in May 2017 to join the Rudner lab. I am currently interested in the mechanisms of spore germination in Bacillus subtilis.
